The Seaplane Works | A vegan guide to Medway

Soup at The Seaplane Works

The Seaplane Works is a cafe in Rochester which offers multiple vegan options, as well as gluten-free and raw food choices. The menu itself focusses on healthy food - gluten-free wraps, hearty soup, complex salads, and breakfast items such as chia porridge are all available. There is also vegan cheesecake!

Overall, the food is okay. It's a little pricey for what you get, with coffee at £3 and most mains between £6-9 despite small portion sizes. However it certainly makes you feel healthy after you've eaten it. It's definitely very "Instagram worthy" as the food comes adorned with beautiful sprouted seeds and edible flowers. Realistically, it's a hipster hangout!

One last thing... the chairs are really uncomfortable! They are solid metal with no cushioning whatsoever, and seem to have been chosen more for their aesthetic appeal than their practicality. If you experience chronic pain or joint issues, I'd recommend staying away from The Seaplane Works.

Overall, I'd give The Seaplane Works a rating of 6/10. It's definitely worth a visit, but I think there are better options.
